Play 32bpp OpenTTD!

How to play OpenTTD in 32-bit mode

  1. Download the .tar archives of the graphics you want.
  2. Place the tarballs in your data directory
    (I recommend that you create a folder named "32bpp Graphics" and put the tarballs there)
  3. Then open the openttd.cfg and add one of these variables under the [misc] section.

    blitter= 32bpp-simpleslow but reliable
    blitter= 32bpp-optimizedfaster
    blitter= 32bpp-animanimation is enabled

Now find the line that says
sprite_cache_size= and increase the value to 64

To play with the extra zoom levels:
  1. Apply the patch found in this topic to the source code
  2. Compile the source. (Don't forget to fix any conflicted code)
  3. Continue on step 1, except download graphics for the extra zoom level

Command Line Parameters

You can also tell OpenTTD to run in 32-bit by giving one of these parameters:

-b 32bpp-simple
-b 32bpp-anim
-b 32bpp-optimized
